i'm reading a great book. i've been reading it for six months. six months is a long time to spend on a book, but it's a book of short stories so when i finish a story i let go of the book for awhile and read other things. i plow through the rest of my life but i enjoy savoring this book.

autumn and i caught eachother's eyes today (while i was reading this book at my fav caf). first time in 4 years. she saw me first, from across the street; she was waving as i looked up. then she was gone, around the corner. she was always just around the corner -- in every way. i wanted to chase after her, but i couldn't. a promise was made long ago. i admit that i fear i'll be disappointed in the woman she's become. (or is it the other way around??) they tell me she's a loon.

~[ nothing left to dance around. what a hero what a black and blue bird. what a loon. a loon. ]~
